UG program started in the year 1997- only one of two approved by AICTE in 1996 after a gap of 25 years. Initial intake 30, increased to 60 in 2000 and 120 in 2006.
PG Program-Master of Aeronautical Engineering added in 2003 with an intake of 18 per year.
Doctoral (Ph.D) programme commenced from April 2008.Currently nine students/faculty registered. Ph.D is in collaboration with Anna University of Technology.
The department is accredited by National Board of Accreditation, AICTE and NAAC (B grade)
