Infrastructure and Learning Resources

PHYSICAL FACILITIES

The Institution has always been committed to providing excellent physical facilities for teaching and learning. It recognizes that a good infrastructure is essential for creating a good academic environment and enabling quality education. To ensure this, the institute consistently upgrades its infrastructure anticipating future requirements. However, the institution strongly condemns plagiarism and takes necessary measures to prevent it from happening in any form. The college campus is spread across 26.71 acres of lush green environment with a built-up area of 103235 sq. meters. The institution provides admirable infrastructural facilities for teaching and learning, which includes classrooms, laboratories, computing equipment, and more. It also rolls out value-added programs, activity-based learning, and laboratory-oriented theory classes to bridge the gap in academic teaching and align with industry requirements. The available physical infrastructure is optimally utilized beyond regular college hours to conduct co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, placement training classes, campus recruitments, meetings, seminars, conferences, etc.


Each classroom is equipped with a blackboard, stage, sufficient number of lights, and fans. The classrooms have good ventilation and are mounted with an LCD projector with a Wi-Fi facility for ICT-enabled learning. The institution has 2 computer centers along with computers at individual department labs with the total count of 342 PCs, maintaining a student computer ratio of 2.45:1 against the AICTE requirement of 6:1.


The institution possesses various infrastructures for teaching and learning. There are 72 classrooms available for students, out of which 20 classrooms are equipped with all necessary ICT facilities to enhance the teaching-learning process. The laboratories are spacious, well-furnished, and have good ventilation and lighting facilities. All laboratories are equipped with essential equipment to meet the requirements of the curriculum. The institution has seminar halls equipped with LCD projectors, computer workstations, audio-visual facilities, and wireless internet facilities. The library is spacious, well-ventilated, and lighted with a total area of 750 sq. meters. The college library is equipped with a large number of books and journals with open access facility, and each department has its own library.


Overall, the institution has a strong commitment to providing the best infrastructure and physical facilities to facilitate quality education and academic development for its students and staff.

LIBRARY

Park college of Engineering and Technology library is well-equipped with facilities and technologies to support the academic and research needs of students and faculty. With an area of 750 sq.m., the library provides ample space for students to study and research. The Open Access System followed by the library ensures easy access to books and materials without any restriction or formalities. The salient features of the Library Management Software as mentioned are as follows:


1.Open Access System – The library has a free to read and unrestricted system in accessing all resources directly from its stored places. It helps to compare the resources between authors and publishers, facilitating access to the contents and then selecting the appropriate resources.


2.OPAC Service – The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is a search engine to search the books and journals catalogued through automation software. This service enables students and faculty members to search for resources and check their availability from any device connected to the internet.


3.Library Blog – The library blog is a single webpage that provides access to all the library resources and online links such as e-books, e-journals, and question papers. These resources can be accessed directly from the library blog, which makes it convenient for users to access them.


4.Digital Library with 12 Systems – The institution library consists of 12 PCs for the Digital Library users for accessing all digital contents including CD/DVDs.


5.Support to students for self-learning activities – Regular orientation programs are conducted to educate the users on the available resources and the method to access them. It also gives information on the new arrivals of resources.


6.Library Hour – Students are allotted with compulsory library hours in a week to utilize the printed and e-resources available in the library.


7.NPTEL Video Sessions – Lecture Videos from IIT institutions are subscribed and downloaded from the NPTEL Portal. It is being displayed to the students as a Video Session on the relevant course or topic.


8.Help Desk Reference Service – The Help Desk Reference assists the users personally by the library professionals in accessing and retrieving information at any time.


Open Access System is followed in the library. It consists of Reading section, Stack area, Reference section, Periodical section, Acquisition section, Circulation section and Technical section. The total collection of the college library is 13021 titles, 40719 Volumes and subscribes to 95 National and International journals.The library has an Integrated Management System called CMS Software (College Management System Software) is being used. The Software system has functionalities that enables the library to manage its operations viz., acquisition of books and materials, creation and maintenance of catalogue database, circulation of its holdings, transaction, etc.

IT INFRASTRUCTURE

Institution frequently updates its IT facilities and provides sufficient bandwidth for internet connection. The IT facilities available in our institution are state-of-the-art. We have a dedicated team to work round the clock to ensure that all our hardware and software are up-to-date and functioning without any problem. The college provides computer facilities to the students to learn experimentally and also to gain access to the cutting-edge technologies in the IT world. These systems have excellent networking facilities. The IT facilities that are available in supporting academic and non-academic activities include:


1) Desktop computers in all departments.

2) All desktop computers are connected to Campus Network.

3) Laser Printers provided in all departments

4) LCD projectors available in all ICT enabled class rooms

5) All the latest Software are regularly updated to keep in pace with development.

6) All computer systems are connected to Uninterrupted Power Supply.

7) Both indoor and outdoor spaces in the college premises are under surveillance with 10 CCTV cameras for the safety of students and faculty. The cameras are increased from time to time based on the requirement

8) The institution has a digital library server for the students and faculty members. They can access the server through intranet at any time for e-books and a lot more.


Apart from the computer laboratories setup for syllabus programs the Institutes have provided computer centers for general purposes and learning during extra hours. This includes Internet Facilities available through leased line and Wi-Fi for providing continuous and uninterrupted internet connectivity to students and faculty members. These facilities are also available to students beyond college hours for preparation of seminars & projects and research-orientated work. The entire campus including the hostels is Wi-Fi enabled and students can access the internet on their laptops round the clock.

STUDENT SUPPORT AND PROGRESSION


Student Support and Progression discusses about the support given by the institution in terms of finance and for the career development of the students. The institution gives financial support to students like single parent scholarship, agriculture background scholarship etc. Category-wise government scholarships like BC, MBA, DNC, FG, and SC/ST are provided. Skill development programme are conducted like soft skill training, language and communication development helps to support their placement. Life skills development programs like yoga, health and hygiene related programs are conducted. Software training or workshop is conducted which helps students to learn latest software’s in the field, apart from that given in their curriculum. The placement cell organizes several career guidance programs to clear competitive exams and career counselling related programme. Students attending these programs go for higher studies in India or abroad. The institution has different committees like anti ragging, grievance redressal, etc to address the student’s issues. Anti ragging squad members used to visit college spots and monitor students. We have a ragging free campus. The rules and regulations for anti-ragging is displayed in different spots along with the anti-ragging committee members contact numbers. An online grievance form is available in the college website for students to report their grievances. Grievance box is placed in college in required places for collecting student’s grievance. The grieve committee redresses regularly. Students interested in sports are given regular practice is given through physical education department to achieve in tournaments both university /state/national levels. Students interested in cultural activities like drawing, painting, pencil sketching, dance etc., use to win awards both in the events conducted inter and intra institution level. An active alumni cell is functioning in the college. Alumni meets are conducted yearly once. To Alumni share their industry experience, latest technology used in companies, how to approach companies for placement to their juniors. Few alumni donate books to their juniors. In several departments, alumni are invited as resource person for seminar, workshops to benefit juniors. Quite few alumni are serving as faculty members in the college. Few other supports for sports by conducting trophy regularly.
