About the Department

Department of Geoinformatics Engineering is one of the youngest and developing technological departments, set-up in 2018. This Geoinformatics Department to offer core technological courses in the field of Remote sensing and GIS, Geography and Geology. This Department also imparts training, education & research in the field of GIS, DBMS, spatial analysis and modelling, Transportation GIS, 3D GIS, Spatial Data Mining, Surveying, Health GIS and development of software tools using FOSS4G.

Department Highlights

• Course Program started in 2018 after being approved by AICTE and Anna University Chennai.
• Faculty members are well-experienced with an average teaching experience of 9.5 years and two of our faculty members do have vast industrial experiences of more than 10 years.
• Equipped with advanced and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities for academic and project-execution related activities.
• Faculty members have published more than 10 Research article publications in leading journals and 1 Book publication too.
• 100% Pass percentage achieved for 2018-2022 batch
• Our Alumni are placed in reputed Geospatial Companies
• One of our alumni is currently pursuing his post-graduate education at a reputed Overseas-based University namely Coventry University situated in England.
• An another alumni is pursuing M.E in Remote Sensing and Geomatics at Anna University Chennai (Main Campus).
• Our department organizes regular events at both National and Inter-national levels
• Soft-skill training is provided for all of our students
